Spencer Hamilton, MFA

Visiting Assistant Professor of Theatre Arts – Directing and Musical Theatre. Spencer is an actor, director, and educator originally from the High Desert of Oregon. His love of theatre was first cultivated in his local community theatre, where he performed as a member of the Munchkin Guild alongside his family—his father played the Cowardly Lion, while his mother served as the Assistant Director.

Since then, Spencer has performed and directed productions across the United States and is excited to continue cultivating his teaching practice here at Utah Tech University. His training includes choral performance with a specialization in Early Music, opera performance, Theatre for Young Audiences, Stanislavski-based techniques through The Group Theatre, Fitzmaurice Voicework, Knight-Thompson Speechwork, Viewpoints, clowning, and accent work.
