Assistant Professor of Theatre Arts – Scenic Design and Technical Director. Ky was born and raised in Ashton, Idaho, where his background in potato farming somehow sprouted into a passion for theatre and a desire to become an educator. After earning his bachelor’s degree in Theatre Education from BYU-Idaho, Ky pursued graduate studies at Utah State University, where he earned an MFA in Scenic Design and Technical Direction.
Ky has worked on a wide range of productions, with extensive experience as both a scenic designer and technical director. His professional work includes collaborations with Blackfoot Community Players, Utah State University Theatre, USU Opera, the Lyric Repertory Company, Idaho State University, the University of Southern Mississippi, and the Tony Award-winning Utah Shakespeare Festival.
Outside of theatre, Ky enjoys LEGO building, skiing, baking, and movie nights with his wife, Alison, and their four children.
