Bethany Doud is a theatrical costumer with experience in wardrobe, stitching, design, and education. She currently serves as the Costume Shop Supervisor at Utah Tech University, where she oversees costume operations within the Theatre Program and collaborates with Film, Dance, and other programs across the university.
Bethany has gained professional experience as a wardrobe crew member with organizations including Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida; The Glimmerglass Festival in Cooperstown, New York; and The Far North Follies in Valdez, Alaska. Locally, she has worked as a Stitcher at the Utah Shakespeare Festival in Cedar City, Utah, and as a Costume Designer and Costume Manager at Encore Performing Arts in St. George, Utah.
As the daughter of two educators, Bethany is passionate about learning, teaching, and creating an environment where students can grow. She strives to make the costume shop a safe and welcoming space where students can try new things, develop their skills, and experience the art of costume making. Regardless of their level of experience, Bethany believes that every person has something valuable to contribute to this collaborative creative space.
Bethany graduated from Southern Utah University in 2024 with a major in Theatre Arts and a minor in Arts Administration. During her time at SUU, she worked in the costume shop as a Wardrobe Supervisor, Stock Supervisor, and Stitcher. In recognition of her dedication and contributions to the shop, she was awarded the Eletra Casadei Assistantship by the SUU Theatre Department. She also designed costumes for a variety of mainstage productions, dance concerts, and student-led performances.
