AUDITIONS FOR TUMBLEWEED THEATRE’S SUMMER PRODUCTION OF MACBETH NO. 9
Utah Tech University’s new professional summer theatre will be holding auditions for its inaugural production of Macbeth No. 9, a new, devised take on Shakespeare’s play. Roles will be available for 9 actors who are comfortable with an experimental lab approach to theatre. The production will feature adult content, including violence and sexuality, but no nudity. Actors will be asked to engage in a very physical process, employing such disciplines as Suzuki, Grotowski, clowning, improvisation, and beyond. Actors of all abilities and ethnicities are encouraged to audition. All roles will be available to all genders.

If you have other skills (e.g. playing an instrument, tumbling skills, juggling, other circus skills), please bring the necessary instruments or items you would need to demonstrate them. If you sing, you may be asked to sing something a capella. Please come to the audition prepared to move.
Auditions will be held in the Eccles Building on the campus of Utah Tech on Monday, January 30 from 6 to 10 PM and Saturday, February 4 from 1 PM to 5 PM. If you are unable to attend either auditions, please send a recorded audition to brandon.bruce@utahtech.edu. Callbacks will be held Saturday, February 11 from 1 PM to 5 PM.
Rehearsals will begin May 22. There will be a one weeklong hiatus between June 3 and 10, after which rehearsals will resume. The production will likely run from June 29 to July 15.
