It’s time to start thinking about auditions for A Midsummer Night’s Dream! We are pleased to announce that we will be casting both actors and dancers, with Brandon Bruce directing and Sara Gallo choreographing the dance in the show.
Auditions for ACTORS will be Monday, Nov. 27 and Tuesday, Nov. 28.
Auditions for DANCERS (who will play the fairies Peaseblossom, Cobweb, Mustardseed, Moth, and others) will be Wednesday, Nov. 29.
Callbacks for ACTORS will be Thursday, Nov. 30.
Actors are asked to prepare a 1-2 minute memorized Shakespearean monologue in verse (even if you’re auditioning for a “mechanical” role). Dancers need not prepare anything. You may audition for both acting and dancing roles, but you’ll need to attend both an acting audition and a dancing audition.
Actors will sign up for 10-minute slots while dancers will sign up for 1-hour blocks.

Community Audition Policy
UT Theatre encourages community involvement and welcomes the public to audition, unless otherwise advertised. In the case that community members do audition, it is the obligation of the Department and Institution to provide the foremost opportunities to students who are registered and enrolled as a student at the time of casting. Roles for individuals who are not registered and enrolled students are not guaranteed and will most likely be secondary characters or chorus cast member roles. Those who enroll, audition, are cast and then withdraw from school at any time during the semesters of production, may be replaced.
We appreciate the ongoing support and the enthusiasm of our community members. We hope to see you again soon!
